ಈ ನಗರಕ್ಕೆ ಪೂರ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಜಯಸಿಂಹ ನಗರವೆಂದು ಕರೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ನಿಜಾಮನ ಅಡಳಿತದಲ್ಲಿ ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಹುಮನಾಬಾದ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರಾಯಿತು. ಹುಮನಾಬಾದಿನ ಶ್ರೀ. ವೀರಭದ್ರೇಶ್ವರ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿ ವರ್ಷ ಜನವರಿ 26 ರಂದು 8 ದಿನಗಳ ಜಾತ್ರಾ ಮಹೋತ್ಸವ ಜುರುಗತೆ. ಈ ಮಹೋತ್ಸವಕ್ಕೆ ಅನೇಕ ಜನರು ಉತ್ತರ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ, ಮಹಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರ (MH) ಮತ್ತು ಆಂಧ್ರ ಪ್ರದೇಶ (AP)ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳಿಂದ ಬರುತ್ತಾರೆ.
- ಹುಮನಾಬಾದ ಪುರಸಭೆಯು 1953 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆಗೊಂಡಿದೆ.
- ಪುರಸಭೆ ಹುಮನಾಬಾದನಲ್ಲಿ ಒಟ್ಟು 23 ಮತದಾನ ವಿಭಾಗಗಳು ಮತ್ತು 23 ಪುರಸಭೆ ಸದಸ್ಯರನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡಿರುತ್ತದೆ.
- 2001 ರ ಜನಗಣತಿ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಒಟ್ಟು ಜನಸಂಖ್ಯೆ 36517 ಇರುತ್ತದೆ.
- ಹುಮನಾಬಾದ ಪುರಸಭೆಯು 18.66 ಚ.ಕಿ.ಮಿ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಸ್ತರಿಸಿದೆ.
- ಹುಮನಾಬಾದ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿ ೯ರ ಮೇಲೆ ಇದ್ದು ಮುಂಬಯಿ ಹೈದ್ರಾಬಾದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
- ಹುಮನಾಬಾದ ಬೀದರ ದಿಂದ 55ಕಿ.ಮಿ ದೊರದಲ್ಲಿದೆ.
- ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಆಡಳಿತ ಭಾಷೆ ಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಹಿಂದಿ, ಉರ್ದು ವ್ಯಾಪಕವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ.
- ಮುಖ್ಯ ಬೆಳೆಗಳು ಜೋಳ, ತೋಗರಿ, ಹೆಸರುಕಾಳು ಮತ್ತು ಕಬ್ಬು.
- ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಂಜಾ ಡ್ಯಾಂ ನಿಂದ ನೀರು ಸರಬರಾಜು ಮಾಡಲಾಗುತಿದ್ದು ಇದು 20ಕಿ.ಮಿ.ದೊರದಲ್ಲಿದೆ.

Humnabad Town is situated at Mumbai - Hyderabad National Highway No.9 and State Highway Bidar-Gulbarga at a distance of 670 Kms from Bangalore., in Bidar Dist of North Karnataka

It has a population of 36,517 as per census 2001.

The TMC has 23 wards and equal number of councilors and 5 numbers of Nominated Councilors.

Humnabad TMC stretches to an area of 18 SqKms.

The town has the famous Sri. Veerbhadreshwar temple.

Every year on 26th January, 8 days jatra Mohotsav is celebrated and many people come from states of Maharastra(MH), Andra Pradesh (AP) and North Karnataka.
- The Town is using drinking water from Karanja dam.

ಗಣಕೀಕರಣ : ಪುರಸಭೆ ಹುಮನಾಬಾದ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯ ಆಸ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿ, ಆಸ್ತಿ ವಿವರಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದ್ದು, ಮಾಹಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಗಣಕೀಕೃತಗೊಳಿಸುವದು ಪ್ರಗತಿಯಲ್ಲಿದು ಶೀಘ್ರದಲ್ಲೇ ನಾಗರೀಕರು ಇದರ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯ ಪಡೆಯಬಹುದಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ 1990 ನೇ ಸಾಲಿನಿಂದ ಈವರೆಗೆ ಜನನ ಮತ್ತು ಮರಣ ದಾಖಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಗಣಕೀಕೃತಗೊಳಿಸಿದ್ದು, ನಾಗರೀಕರು ಇನ್ನು ಮುಂದೆ ಜನನ-ಮರಣ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಪತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಗಧಿತ ಶುಲ್ಕ ಪಾವತಿಸಿ ಪಡೆಯಬಹುದಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ನಾಗರಿಕರು ತಮ್ಮ ದೂರುಗಳು ಆನ್ಲೈನ್ ಅಥವಾ ದೂರವಾಣಿ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ 08483-271722 ಮೂಲಕ ನೂಂದಣೆ ಮಾಡಬಹುದು.

Computerisation: Properties within Humnabad TMC limits have been identified through field survey and the Computerisation of detail information collected through survey is under process. Birth & Death records are available online from the year 1990. Citizens are requested to use this facility for registration and obtain Birth and Death Certificates Online only . Citizens can register there Complaints online or through Phone No: 08483-271722.
